Lol..what a conincidence...i'd completely forgotten about this thread and i just happened to check ur post today...and guess what, me too getting the S3 IS... had some confusion whether to go for the S5 or the S3 but i finally decided to get the S3 cos the S5 is not worth the extra dough.. N now i see tht u too have the same cam.. I had gone to get it yesterday, but it wasnt in stock..so will get it today..
The S5's 8 mp ccd adds lotsa noise at higher ISOs especially in low light conditions...thts bcos the ccd has been stretched too far to make it an 8 mp cam...tht causes purple fringing problems and also has more barrel distortion... Also, the bigger lcd of the s5 eats up the battery real fast..so i think, the S3 is a better overall choice...and 6 mp is more than enuf for pics..
Will post the pics once i get hold of it...
