Embarassed Sony Bags IPL rights for 1 billion dollars
Now get ready to face an utter crap cricket presentation for the next 10 years with Mandira Bedi

In news just emerging, SONY TV is bagged the exclusive rights to the Indian Premier League for the next 10 years for a massive sum of just more than 1 billion US Dollars, of which 100 million are for promotion and marketing.

The Media Rights Invitation to Tender for broadcast and other media rights to the IPL was contested by Sony Entertainment, Nimbus, the World Sports Group, ESPN Star Sports, Ten Sports and NDTV in partnership with a US based USD 25 billion media equity fund named Providence, a press release issued by IPL said on Friday.

All this basically means is that we can expect to see the most idiotic cricket coverage for the next 10 years Or we might actually be witnessing the first nail in the coffic of IPL If no one watches the crap, it will flop anyway.


This is second time in a raw ESPN-Star were outbid by Sony, earlier by Nimbus.
