That argument doesn't hold. Not when you have been doing things one way for ages. The people might well argue that they don't need the competition and those who are coming go away. I have heard people argue that without the North Indians, Bombay won't be what it is. Thats partly true but not entirely relevant to the class thats on the streets. Irrespective of who is in Bombay, the strategic location of Mumbai always makes it a very important place. And that ensures that the locals will have something to do. Maybe not as much.

Beating up the best yeah but you forget that these so called best aren't always doing things in the above board manner. Infact its those guys that lead to corruption and even moral corruption
