i don't think its bad politics. He was nobody before he did this. He wasn't even in the local newspapers. So any votes for him is good politics. He is cutting into Shiv Sena traditional votebank and thats why they are also upping the ante.

Raj has nothing to lose, everyone else has everything to lose. Whatever happens now, he will profit, whether he goes to jail or he doesn't.
