His party still won't get any votes. And I can give you a simple reason - the people who are rioting or supporting the rioting (I'm not talking about supporting anti-immigration measures, I mean the actual physical altercations) are all his party members. He hasn't really been able to inspire any hatred in anyone else.
End result, the issue is raked up, but the Shiv Sena will benefit a bit. Not him. Also, the north Indians will now probably vote for the Congress. The NCP is a mostly Maharashtra party, so the N. Indians are unlikely to vote for them.
