What the article means is that a candidate might have scored overall high marks but didn't clear the individual subject cuts so got left out. I think thats fair. You don't want one subject wonders getting in.
But if you have cut offs for each subject,how can someone who hasnt cleared a subject get selected??
so is there an overall cutofff in addtion to the cutoffs in each subject?....and if u have cleared the overall cutoff its fine if you fail one subject??
