Default Re: Mallaya sacks Charu as Bangalore's CEO

Charu is not too happy about what has happened

Blazing fast live cricket score, commentary at par with live action, Indian Premier League, IPL
n a twist to the tale, former CEO of the Bangalore Royal Challengers, Charu Sharma has said that he did not step down but was rather "summarily dismissed". It is learned that the decision was a result of growing discontent in the franchise following the disastrous performance of the team since the mauling they received in the first match of the IPL against the Kolkata Knight Riders.

"I am not a quitter, especially when the chips are down," Sharma said in a statement. "The company has every right to hire and fire personnel. For details of why I was summarily dismissed from my duties, 3 hours before I was to board a flight to Kolkata for the next match, please contact representatives of the company."
News channels are reporting right now that Charu has said that he was not given the time and has expressed his displeasure. Many former players have also come out in support of Charu.

Meanwhile this is what cricinfo has to say about what led to the events

Mallya is learnt to have been extremely upset on Monday night after he watched his team, led by Rahul Dravid, the former India captain, lose their fifth match. Mallya bought the franchise from the IPL council with a bid of US$ 111.6 million and then faced a barrage of criticism after the players' auction where Dravid took the lead in picking a squad - including South Africa's Jacques Kallis and India's Wasim Jaffer - that has since been tagged as a Test XI.
