Default Re: US Presidential Elections 2008-09

After today's results there is a huge speculation that Clinton might drop off very soon. A KO by Obama in North Carolina and a photo finish in Indiana with Clinton narrowly winning has almost sealed Hillary's fate. There is no chance she can win the pipular or pledged delegate vote now and her plans make an argument to the democratic superdelegates to ignore the popular winner Obama and give her the nomination on the basis of her "better performance" in the big states now is going out of the window

Clinton has run out of money and needed a big win in Indiana and atleast a close finish in NC to make any sort of headway in making her case to the funders. She failed on both counts.

"Some were saying that North Carolina would be a game-changer in this election. But today, what North Carolina decided is that the only game that needs changing is the one in Washington," Obama told supporters in Raleigh, North Carolina.
There are now only 6 more states left and apart from Oregon, all are the smaller states with few delegates on offer. West Virginia primaries go to the polls next tuesday.

As of today this is the delegate standings.
