And yes, it did get flooded till waist level at many places on 14th.
Anyways, i think, cursing the BMC is gonna be of no use. The topography of mumbai is such that it will get flooded in monsoon during high tide days, no matter what. When the water level at the sea rises above the sewage pipeline levels, all that water has no way else, but to come back into the city..
Storm water drainage system is useless on high tide days. Effectively raising the level of the land in low lying areas is well, impossible. I dont think they have the kind of resources and funds to do that in city as large as Bombay...
All we can do is pray that there are no heavy (and continuous) showers on high tide days.
Anyways, Navi Mumbai is safe because of the hills.
