> Buying new helmet..... tips needed

My old helmet is quite badly scratched and I met with a bad accident with it.

It is recommended that after an accident, it is better to change the helmet as due to the impact, the helmet may have developed some internal cracks.....

Anyway, point is, I am THINKING of buying a new helmet. I was thinking of going for a regular Vega helmet and then customise by adding the usual Ferrari sticker and so on

But I have heard a lot abt AVG helmets...... What is so special abt them ?? How much do they cost ??

hmm here avg costs around 1.8k- 2.5k... the build quality is good.

i prefer helmets that provide ventillation slots.. i feel so suffocated in helmets that dont have any ventillation in em..

also from mah experience... get a helmet that is white/yellow/maybe red too...
cause at night when there are no lights around.. happens in my area, the only thing that might be visible is your helmet(if the backlight is not working) and that too only if its some bright colour... or else you would def be in some serious trouble if someone cant see you...

Here's the one i got about a month back. Name's MBA. dunno where it was made, but as the shopkeeper (a friend of mine) said, he got them imported from Singapore. I had tried the ones sunny has (AGV??) in Blr but somehow they were not perfect (confort wise) they were a bit too tight for me.

When I tried this on, it felt much better. so though these are kinda no name ones, I just had to buy it. Set me back by 2300 bucks. there was another one which was more 'aerodynamic' with the 'spoiler' n all.. lol.. 3500 bucks.. i like plain n simple so went with this.

Build quality is good. Weight is reasonable (not too heavy IMO). doesnt move around and perfectly sits on my head. the vents are there more for show than practical.


Nice n shiny .. didnt like the vizor at first..

Though initially i didnt like the shiny vizor, its got over me now.. others cant see what i am looking at.. lol.. and its quite intimidating for others when they cant see any reaction from me.. plus, kinda makes me feel like Stig!

Special thing abt them is that they're heavy and heavily padded inside...it aws really tough for me to squeeze in my head for the first month...after that, the foam moulded around my head's shape....


Had been on a trip to wayanad yesterday. Helmet kept me warm was rock stable even at 110+ speeds you wont feel the head/helmet "lifting off" unlike my previous studds JADE helmet....

yup same with my stm helmet.. doesnt wobble atall.even if the strapped on. ..
you should ideally get something like that ... cause if your riding and your helmet iswobbling then it might distract you(doesnt apply to everyone, my dad can still ride with a wobbling helmet, and he doesnt want any tight fits cause now he`s used to such helmets)

My old helmet also doesnt wobble ..... it fits quite well....

I want to know what are the advantages of using AGV helmets over standard 800-1000/- Vega helmets

oo its in the build quality...... have seen a few of my friends break thier vega helmets just by dropping it on the ground.. lol...
the agv one doesnt break so easily.. (have witness agv bashing too, and it took it quite well)...
gp1, and stm are good too in terms of build quality...

GP! IIRC some model has a orange reflective strip in the middle...but my friend has patched it up with plain stickers coz it looks ewww

oh, did i tell you my helmet has scratchproof visor? 9 months, still no scratch

damn. i need a visor like that.. i hate the bloody scratches.. the visibility is greatly reduced at night ..
which visor and which company?

my visor.. doesnt get scratch easily.but it got some deep scratches.. when i had fallen .. damn!

IT looks as if it has scratches...wipe it off carefully, they vanish lol
