If not the bullet train, but it atleast looks a whole lot better than the mundane maroon and blue almost 40-50 year old locals..

But my concern is....kab tak rahegi safed.... Given the kind of hooligans travelling in the locals here.. i just hope n wish ppl use a civic property with as much care as they wud with their own... Ppl here shud atleast take some lessons from the ppl of Delhi..how they have kept the metro spic n span...
Only time will tell.... This cud be like the beta run for the metro project here...if ppl learn to handle this properly, the metro of mumbai wud be as good as tht of delhi..or else, we'll soon have broken glass windows, malfunctioning doors(mumbai ppl are just not used to the concept of closed train doors.. )....and dirty stains all over the place..

Hope we all learn to be as civilized as our western counterparts...only then will we be able to make a Shanghai out of Mumbai..

Btw, in pune, Corporation has started Volvo buses for local transportation. Same rates, but superior service!

Even in Bangalore there are a few Volvos.... really awesome.

And these trains wont remain like this for long....

trains, trains more trains....why they are implementing so much on technology....I just want that they shud have double decker train running on our tracks to handle the load of the public!!!

Thts simply impossible to implement in suburban railways here ..since a double decker train needs low platform heights(for the lower deck..or the window goes below the level of the platform..tht'll cause a lot of problems during rains) and they are raising the platform height on all the stations.. Plus imagine the condition if and when a situation like 26th july happens again..the lower decks wud completely drown..
Plus more space is never enuf in mumbai..even if there was a way to use double decker trains here, thr will still be ppl hanging out of the trains and travelling on rooftops..
