There are actually 4 books as part of a series. All of them were pretty good

That's good to hear, I've got the other 3 lying around, but hadn't started on them as I thought they might be a let down.

The movie wasn't too good though. I saw it again recently after watching 10,000BC, and didn't think it did justice to the book.
On my pre-historic trip I also watched The Quest for Fire, and that's one hell of a movie. No words at all, just a bunch of cave men grunting as they go around trying to find some fire, but seriously watchable.

The movie was rubbish , havent managed to complete it. Do read the rest of the books. the valley of horses and mammoth hunters were really good. seem more like chick novels though no offense

i found movie like any other historic movie and to be sure found it quite identical to 300 film.only vga animation saved the movie from a total flop

Could i suggest an American author, (quite prolific) by the name of Harry Turtledove, (his real name apparently)... He kind've specialises in alternate history fantasy and while I've read only two of his books, they were pretty decent, quite plausible.......

i would definitely suggest a dark and terrible beauty series. it rocks. or Never After by Rebecca Lickiss, she is awesome. how about Graceling by Kristin Cashore? so far it's pretty sweet.
