What I have read till now

Jordan
David Eddings
Robin Hobb
Jim Butcher
Terry Brooks
David Gemmell

So wondering what to start with next. Recommendations welcome Tolkien was too heavy and Harry Potter is too light, so looking for something in between.

picked this up for now, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitten_(novel) nothing unique but pretty engaging story none the less

Perhaps C.S Lewis, he seems to be a blend of the two above or maybe Charlaine Harris and/or Stephenie Meyer will satisfy the craving, (no pun intended)

There's also my personal favourite, Anne McCaffrey

Pern seems more sci-fi than fantasy. Its available here though so will check it out
