its a long story.
Hinduism has been(We probably discussed this in detail on SB, yammy was there also) for ages a religion that has been pretty dormant. Its not been aggressive in going out to propagate itself. Thats not true with Christianity and Islam.
The new breed of leaders of hinduism(self proclaimed really as there is no chain of command in Hinduism and these leaders aren't from the temples as such) believe in taking matters in own hand and trying to set what they percieve are wrongs, right themselves.

Imo i will say that the solution is
1) To rein in extremism
and 2) stop religious conversions on the pretext of social welfare when its clear that money/incentives are offered by hardcore zealots who are in this country for the purpose of spreading their faith.

If they wanna wake up then wake up in a good manner, Help the poor and prove that they can help people too rather than just simply take on Innocent people... Some Protestant groups are aggressive converters i Agree on that, but finally People Get Catholics as the are the Majority among Christians....
Felt very Bad yesterday, We never had such kind of incident in Mangalore till date now all thanks to Bhajarang Dal There is one, and surely there will be many.....

Thats the problem with VHP and Bajrang dal.
They make a hue and cry and sport a militant Hindu outfit when it comes to beating up others or raising up a controversy, but when it comes to doing some real work like social service or helping the poor, they are missing.
Look at the state of most Indian temples, how about doing something there? But no VHP and Bajrangi's won't help clean up that.

Maybe not.
Sometimes doing nothing and appeasement is worse than proactive measures and stopping and putting an end to the whole dispute, which is conversions.
Congress has its own axe to grind and they will not be hard on conversions looking for minority votes.

Its also a fact that such incidents are more happening in BJP/NDA ruled states. It can be due to two reasons
1) can be BJP deliberately rakes these issues up or the support organizations, Bajrang Dal's, VHP feel that they can get away with anything under BJP rule.

OR

2) It can also be that the other party ruled states(third front, UPA) don't do anything and turn a blind eye to religious conversions to appease the votebank. This indeed is the case say in UP, where its not religious conversions, but minority appeasement is rampant. Look at the whole SIMI ban issue.

The government has to step into act & act in a manner that is decisive and targets the wrongdoers, otherwise, what WILL happen is that Christian youths will get to a point where they say enough is enough, form gangs, take up arms and then start retaliatory strikes against Hindu's........... Tit for tat will occur and escalate and you're left with rampant sectarian violence and a police force that sits on its hands, unable to do anything to stem the problem.....

This is just one more example of where failure to govern effectively, is coming back to bite the Indian Government on the backside............ (and as per usual, it's the people who suffer from their incompetence)

Christians wouldn't form gangs I don't think they will resort to such things patch
