Be prepared to go back to the Stone Age
lol this one is funny
President Pervez Musharraf of Pakistan tells Steve Kroft that after 9/11, the U.S. threatened to bomb his country if it didn't help America's war on terrorism.
Kroft's interview with the Pakistani leader, in which he also discusses his embarrassment over his country's nuclear secrets getting into the hands of other nations, will be broadcast Sunday, Sept. 24, at 7 p.m. ET/PT.
Musharraf is meeting with President Bush this morning at the White House.
Musharraf says the threat came from then-Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage and was delivered to Musharraf's intelligence director.
"The intelligence director told me that (Armitage) said, 'Be prepared to be bombed. Be prepared to go back to the Stone Age,' " recalls Musharraf. It was insulting, he says. "I think it was a very rude remark." But he reacted to it in a responsible way, he tells Kroft. "One has to think and take actions in the interests of the nation, and that's what I did."
Musharraf: U.S. Threatened Pakistan, Also Speaks About Country's Leaked Nuclear Secrets - CBS News
Although armitage has come out saying that he did not use such words, but used strong words nonetheless. Hardly matters frankly, cos if Pakistan did agree to go after the Taliban it must have been such kind of a threat only.
Bush responds
Asked about the report, Bush said, ``The first I heard of this is when I read it in the newspaper. I guess I was taken aback by the harshness of the words.''

Re: Be prepared to go back to the Stone Age
love of humanity only, you don't consider him to be human
lol yesterday i noticed another thing, If someone was watching the briefing from whitehouse(it was live on cnn/aajtak) you would have noticed that there was a serious attempt by mushi to atleast put palestine ahead of Kashmir.
He used the words
"the world has to solve the core issues" (which previously was always kashmir.
But this time he said
"and the core issue is that of Palestine".
Later on he said
"regional problems have to be solved"
and before he went onto kashmir, he remembered something and said
"but problems of international importance like palestine have to be solved "
On Kashmir he just had to say that he was happy with talks with PM(oh yes he ought to be happy, he is now a partner in fight against terror
Although from Indias point of view US did say that progress on Kashmir is very important. Makes you winder that what the indian pm did in havana was actually US pressure only at work.

Re: Be prepared to go back to the Stone Age
Well only two people in history of the world have done this
Written a book, taken 1 million dollars+ in royalty while being a serving chif of armed forces. General Zia, and General Mushy.
In any other country you will be put behind bars for openly flounting official secrets act which he has taken oath of. Plus he is actually putting the money in his pocket.
Now the height of absurdity, there is talk that kofi Anan will release his book

Re: Be prepared to go back to the Stone Age
This is the kind of person we trust,
In 1998 he says there are "freedom fighters" fighting. He rebukes report that there are divisions of pakistani army fighting. Now he acknowledges that it was indeed pakistani army fighting (5 divisions) and that their contribution will be written in golden letters in the history of Pakistan
Yes sure, its the same man who refused to accept the bodies of those soldiers when India offered them to Pakistan to give them state funeral. Today he talks about the honourable history.
A man who cannot honour his own soldiers can never be trusted.
I have more to say on this, will post in detail later

Re: Be prepared to go back to the Stone Age
Initial estimates now put "In the line of fire" as this months international bestseller.
ehh and the 8k copies for India that were ordered have been sold on the first day itself. Mushy is gonna be a millionaire now if he wasn't already
