Beijing rejoices at India's political mess over N-deal

As bickering in the Indian political establishment over the Indo-US civil nuclear deal has reached its crescendo, some of India's neighbours are actually rejoicing the uncertainty surrounding this showpiece agreement.


While Pakistan's opposition to the nuke deal is well known, Beijing is now trying to point out the 'pitfalls' of the arrangement and even suggesting that Washington should reconsider the deal with New Delhi.


"The result of the pact might turn out not so satisfactory since India, out of practical political considerations, only wants to size the opportunity and rise as a big power," Beijing has warned Washington.


Interestingly, while the Left in India has termed the nuclear agreement a complete sellout to the US, their Chinese counterparts seem to believe otherwise.


"Judging from the text, the US has made big concessions and met almost all Indian requests, including full supply of nuclear fuel to India and allowing it to dispose nuclear waste," Chinese Communist Party mouthpiece People's Daily says.

Well would the left and BJP have any answers. Petty politics. Throw the left to the Chinese. BJP on the other hand can start doing some thinking or it will do no better in the next election too. Instead of raising issues that matter(prices, reservations) it raises nuclear issue.All diversionary tactics to deflect attention from the fact that BJP is missing a leader whom they can project now that ABV is out of the equation and none of the rest have any credibility.

Frankly, I don't think the deal will be off. Saw the interview of Kapil sibal, and according to him the Congress is getting ready to have midterm elections, sometime in 2008. that means that the govt is ready for the polls but not compromise on this deal..

And tough luck the fcukin communists.... i want to see if they stick to their crooked ideologies or the lure of staying in power overcomes their resolve to throw this deal off track.. In all probability, if congress goes tough on its stand to go along with the deal, the leftists will have no other option but to bow down, cos evn they know tht they are good as long as they stay in power...

As for BJP, the less said the better..with ABV stripped off his powers, BJP is nothing more than a bunch of IBCP..............Indian born confused politicians...
