Ghaziabad: A 15-year-old girl, depressed due to poor hair growth, allegedly committed suicide in Ghaziabad Wednesday, police said.

According to the police, the family of Uma Kumari, a student of Class 7, found her hanging from the ceiling at their Nehru Nagar residence about 11.30 am No suicide note was found from the home.

Uma, daughter of Rama Nand, was said to be partially bald and had only a few hair on her head, due to which she was depressed.

The police said they were investigating the death

A couple of days ago I read about this very sad incident. I felt really bad that as humans we weren't able to give that girl enough support.

"look at the fat girl, how can she get so angry".

Why can't fat people get angry?

A girl said, "The guy who asked me out was bald, how could he even expect me to even go with him".

Bald men aren't humans?

"Man, that girl too dark and short".

Being dark and short is a sin?

This guy is so short, no girl will even look at him

again, is it a sin?

I've heard those comments in my own friend's circle, least do people care about how it would hurt.

Are we indirectly responsible for the death of such souls? I don't want to term the girl as weak, but how painful would it be to lead such a life? People comment about looks all the time and doesn't it hurt?

But there are people who take extreme step and take necessary steps to improve themselves & there are other people who take this route. Obviously hurting people is not at all acceptable, but I have seen it in my college itself, that if an acne-filled-faced Girl can do a make over after a year, anybody can do it

and she didnt had any/not visible acne after i saw her in another year

she took upon herself to make change and she succeeded

Change is possible only if one "CAN" change. There are some things which are curable, some aren't. One can't do anything about dark skin right? Yet so many people openly tease dark skinned folks, I've seen it myself. Some people abuse "dark skinned" ppl.

My question is why do they do that even for fun? Are those people sadists?

No Agnel, not sadists, simply bigoted and intolerant............ and in my own view, these types of people cause more of a problem for society at large, because sadists are thankfully few and far between, (and tend to come to notice quickly, so that something can be done about them) whereas intolerance for one thing or another seems to lurk within the hearts of many and is able to be kept out of sight...........

@agnel...some people really mean it and some people only tease it for fun, and no they both are not sadist. The people who mean it, do it to insult the other person, coz they dont have any other point against that person. People who tease for fun, sumtimes know when to stop and they apologize to the person, if they have hurt him in any way

I agree with you on that Patch.

But what I don't understand is, why do these people keep hurting them even thou they know it hurts the other party?

I know a guy who keeps asking my friend how he'd find a girl to get married. He knows my friend isn't good looking, but why should he be questioned every time beats me. I had to talk to that guy, his reply was that he was concerned, I really don't understand such folks...
