India United - Rally at Gateway of India protesting against the mumbai terror attack

Mumbai residents gathered this evening at the Gateway of India to display their solidarity against the terror attacks last week that left 195 dead.

The rally in the downtown area was held against the backdrop of the Taj Mahal Palace and Tower hotel, one of the sites of the terrorist attacks that began on the night of Nov. 26. The Taj was the last site to be cleared of terrorists on the morning of Nov. 29.

Terrorists attacked two hotel complexes, a cafe, a railway terminal and a building that was home to a Jewish center.

People held flowers, candles and signs that called for peace, unity, and action against Pakistan, terrorism. India has said that “elements” based in Pakistan were responsible for the terrorist attacks. Pakistan has sought proof that people or groups based in the country were behind the attacks.

“Enough is enough,” was the main mood at the rally

Those attending the rally included Bollywood actors and a man dressed up to look like Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, the late advocate of non-violence and known as the Father of the Nation.

“We want immediate action to ensure the terrorists don’t come to our city ever again,” one of the placards said.

Nice to see celebs coming out en masse, (but it'd also be nice if they managed to spend some of their money, doing something of value for the community)
