There you have it. I don't know if this is the same Arundhati Roy, but if she is, there are some big lamer socialites in this country who live here, are dependent on India and spread eveil about us also. Its just this trait thats come in where objecting to every policy of government and even foreign policy is a fashion mantra, just another way to remain in limelight.
I am speechless at some of he arguments she has made.. But they go on to prove that people who stay in parties and receive booker price don't know anything about the reality, they write cos they imagine situations to their own liking which ofcourse is to lambaste India.
Truth, in Kashmir, is probably more dangerous than anything else. The deeper you dig, the worse it gets. At the bottom of the pit are the Special Operations Group and Special Task Force (STF), the most ruthless, indisciplined and dreaded elements of the Indian security apparatus in Kashmir,
Truth is that you are a *****.

If after all thats happening you put security agencies as the ones "at the bottom of the pit"(quite a fashionable quote i mut say, expected though) i question your sanity.
I question your sanity on these counts.
1) you completely ignore the ruthless killings of everyone thats happening all over India and in Kashmir by the terrorists(who happen to be killing innocent civilians.
2) you ignore that people caught by the Pakistani establishment(and even POW's protected by international laws) are returned to India mutilated.
3) you ignore that security forces are human also. They are fighting for the country so that people like you can write about lesbians and gays and win booker prices. That killing people from armed forces is not expendable. That we have to and we value the lives of people of India.
4) that people like you jump in when you think you will gain publicity. Where were you when people from armed forces lost their lives in kargil, when act of aggression was done against India, or you believe that was also orchestrated by indian forces?
ok so we have claims that afzal says he was tortured. Sure, and this author takes his statement on face value. why not take the statements of others on face value also . Every terrorist says something in his defense. If you don't trust the word of police forces, how you trust the word of a terrorist beats me.
Next claim, he was tortured by "with electrodes on his genitals and chillies and petrol in his anus." Lets have a medical report shall we. And thats not said in medical. ofcourse you will say that was rigged also. Mind you, the bodies of indian soldiers that pakistani gave were mutilated in all the ways you mentioned and it showed. If we did the same to him, he won;t be living to talk about it.
Again, i knew this was coming, she has finally liked that the attacks were done in collusion by Indians. Ok so we, the army, the intelligence and the government (After all if she is to be believed, we had been building up the troops on border for some time) decide that we need to blow our own parliament to stage a coup and attack Pakistan. Wonderful. I accept that argument but then why didn't we do so. Why didn't India go out and attack Pakistan. Not because of US.. no cos by her argument, we would have already known US reaction, so we, if we planned this, must have planned to take on Us reactions also. And pray i wanna know, why did Pakistan go onto ban LeT and JeM if there was nothing at all in all this. After all if this was stage managed, why would Pakistan ban its own groups. Why would US put pressure on them in the first place if it was all fabricated(or maybe all powers failed to understand this master stroke by Indian security forces which one "Arundhati Roy" understood

)
Courts in India don't convict people like say any other country. Its a known fact that criminals get away in India just for want of evidence. The fact that geelani is free does not mean that he is as innocent as a doll. He is free as there is no credible evidence produced before the supreme court of India that he is guilty. There is a big difference between the words. On one hand you agree with that judgment given by same court(and contested even now by the people who think and even now stad by the fact that Geelani is guilty) but you disagree with the judgement given by same court which clearly and conclusively states that Afzal is the one who masterminded the attack against Indian Parliament, the seat of Indian democracy. You can't have it both ways. Sorry!
I have some doubts..
1) Why do we jump to the conclusion that say in Gujrat the people are guilty even if courts set them free, cos its fashionable to say your are protecting the minorities. Weren't Hindu's massacred there also?
2) What about the people in mumbai and Delhi? where were you when that happened. where was guardian and Arundhati Roy then?
Enough said on this. Will reply more later.
I only congratulate her that she is a citizen of India and just cos of that she will eventually come to India and write here also. Can we say the same thing if she was born in our neighboring country?
