The Philadelphia Inquirer claims that a 25 year old man killed his 17-month old daughter after she pulled the plug on his Xbox. The article reveals that the unstable individual was playing 'Ghost Recon' at the time. In his statement, Tyrone Spellman, said that ,"She pulled the cord and the whole game console fell over. I thought it was broken. I popped her in the face. I picked her up and tossed her in a chair."

We're getting rather bored with the argument that violence in videogames breeds violence in the 'real world' and, although this disturbing example suggests 'the violent combat epic', Ghost Recon, may have something to do with this recent cold-blooded murder enquiry, we'd suggest that anything could have triggered this psychopath's temper.

Nevertheless, this is yet another tragic case that will fuel the argument for further restrictions on violent videogames.

yeah. he was already unstable ... so it wouldnt have matter if the girl had pullled the plugg while he was making toast or something.... but yeah cause of this gamers would get a bad name...

edit - wats wrong with pc games?? watching porn makes you numb towards sex? and watching voilence makes you numb towards blood and gore.. so? b4 games there were( and stilll are) riots, and there rapes and murders, doesnt that affect the psyche of a person??
america has the highest no. of serial killers, this has been the case even b4 games become prominent in the lives of the people.. so definately it wasnt games that made em serial killers(but there are games that do dipict the character and lets you play as one).

so banning games aint gonna help. a person could choose wat he wants to be influenced by(At a conscious or an unconscious level) and it has nothing to do with 'just' games.
