Massive Fire at IOC's Jaipur Oil depot

Massive FIRE broke out at Indian Oil Coporation's Jaipur fuel depot in sector 20, Sitapura, Jaipur this evening.The fire broke out at 19:30 hours when petrol was being transferred from the depot to a pipeline in the outskirts of Jaipur.Two huge explosions were heard first, followed by a major fire.Huge flames shot into the air amid billowing smoke as hundreds of people in the villages in and around the depot panicked and fled from their homes.The fire also spread to some industrial units in a radius of three km destroying them.The depot has 10-12 petrol tankers inside the depot containing about 80-90lakh Litres of Fuel

About 5 persons were killed and more than 160 injured.Around 30-35 persons have been trapped inside the depot.Fire brigade have been trying continuously to bring the fire under control and douse the fire which spread fast and took an enormous shape.

The intensity of the fire is such that the flames can be seen as far as 30 Kms from the India Oil site.People living in nearby areas heard loud explosions due to which many glass planes on buildings broke leading to many injuries.Due to heavy blasts in the depots the panic gripped the Pink City, which is witnessing heavy traffic jams in different parts.People staying in the nearby areas have been asked to shift and move to other places.The electricity has been cut off in the nearby areas and around 70 ambulances have reached the spot and are taking the injured to the hospitals.

Security personnel have cordoned off the area.Special teams of Indian Oil Corp officials have already reached Jaipur to coordinate the operations there.The Army have been called in to help in the rescue operations.Union Petroleum Minister Murli Deora will go to Jaipur to take stock of the situation.

Basically they can't do anything about it now.
Just allow it to burn out and prevent it from spreading to other depots(both HPCL and BPCL depo's are nearby too ) So much for teaching "SHE" in management courses to the officers (i have attended so i know )

At 7, there must have been plenty of people inside too
