Mumbai: Women gangraped & burnt alive

In a gruesome incident, a 25-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped and burnt alive by four people at Antop Hill, Mumbai. After having suffered 60 per cent burn injuries, the victim, who was admitted at the Sion Hospital, succumbed to the injuries on Tuesday (September 22).

The police have arrested four accused in this connection. The four accused have been identified as Rajesh Raju Devendra, Kumar Raju Devendra, Nitya Raju Devendra and Shankar Muraliyar.

“The accused were arrested yesterday, after which they were sent for medical examination and will be produced before the court. The accused reportedly belong to the same family as the victim. The motive behind the rape is unknown yet, but investigations are on, which are being handled by senior police officers,,” said Mumbai police.

Police added, “The victim succumbed to her burn injuries early today morning and her last statement she said that the four accused had burnt her alive. Investigations are on and we are seeking the custody of the accused.”

The victim's kin lodged a complaint with the local police, following which the Mumbai police arrested the four accused.

What a sad end for this woman, hopefully, the full measure of the Law will bear upon these cowards & if not the law, then let some person shoot them for the dogs that they are and leave them in the street to be washed away with all the other rubbish....
