As the judge said rightly: There is nothing wrong about protecting your family, its about illegally doing so.

There is talk that the environment of riots was such that led to his actions. Thats no excuse. Getting weapons from the underworld knowing there is money coming in for a big operation in Mumbai and knowledge that if provided to polica can protect lives is a crime and he has been punished.

he commited crime and he has to be punished.

If there is provison of granting probation well as his conduct been good afterwards he can be considered for more.

but there is nothing wrong in him getting a strong punishment.
minimum sentence in arms act is 5 years so he was to get minimum of that.

^^ truly said doc. if we allow ppl to get away, then it would become an excuse for ppl committing crimes.

Guilty should be punished.. He was lucky to escape with 6 years imprisonment..

maybe he deserved it, maybe ge didnt. its not for us to decide or comment on it

^^It is not for us to decide, but we can definitely comment now that he has been convicted and sentenced. The presumption of innocence no longer holds.
