Sometimes single parenthood is the result of an unhappy marriage which ends up in divorce. In tht case, the child is deprived of the love of either his father or his mother. Tht is a completely different scenario as it is legally binding to follow the court order.Agreed, it has a negative impact on the upbringing of the child and many such children are never able to cope with their realities in life when they grow up. But theres nothing much that can be done in this case, except tht the guardian marries someone else again.But it, in no way, may be a worthwhile solution to the problem. In fact, it can only get worse. A step parent can never give the same love and support to a child as a real parent will.
But yes, those singles who prefer to adopt a child and wish to take care of them on their own without the help of anyone, shud think about the future consequences. But thts completely upto them. Usually adoption centres do not allow single parents to adopt a child. But its a growing 'fashion' among celebs around the world to do that.Neways, thts their choice.

As for me, single parents or otherwise, i hate kids, so it hardly matters to me..

I am okay when the situation of single parent arises due to cause of death or proper reasons of divorce. Oflate, stupid, independent parents, file for divorce with no proper reaons. I hate such situations... nothing else.

There is a growing no of young women who think that they need no support and they can just adopt a child and live their lives. I mean they adopt a kid for what? Do they even give importance to what the kid might go thru without a dad's love?

Take sushmita's daughter for instance. Sen has had 2-3 different boy friends and her adopted daughter must have looked at these men as her future dad. WTF! It won't show any signs now, but in the long run, she would be just like those confused kids who get into drugs, alcohol and all other sorts of immoral activities. Those ppl lose interest in life

Tough on the kids though, especially having to choose between their parents, and go thru' the trauma of shuttling from one to the other time to time...

Scares the hell outta me!

^ It scares the hell out of many people. Misused freedom is the root cause I believe. Some men and women were discussing about not getting married in the first place for the same reason cos they will fight

Now, government allows adopting for single women and not single men? Why? I think i am venturing into another topic altogether
