Man refuses 2 million Euro lottery win

A German pensioner who won €2-million (about R19-million) on the lottery refused the cash because he didn't know what to do with it, reports Ananova.com.

The 70-year-old man from Hameln, Lower Saxony, went to the headquarters of the German lottery association in Hanover after finding out about his win and told them he did not want the money.

He reportedly said: "What would I do with so much money? My wife has already passed away, my parents are dead, I have no children and no other relatives. I don't want it."

He said he had only bought the lottery ticket out of a habit because his late wife had been a passionate player.

Lottery officials said they were trying to persuade him to keep the money. - Ananova.com

just shows you money can't be the end goal of life. there are things beyond money.

























having said that, thats once you are 50plus. i am not so i am ready to accept

Instead of refusing the prize money, he shud have atleast given it to some animal welfare organization or an orphanage or something...tht wud have helped someone.


Btw, has any of u evr bought a lottery ticket ?? I've never bought one, cos i consider myself too unlucky to win..

i did.
the first ever playwin lottery when it was launched.
got 3 numbers on the very first attempt, missed another by 1. Won Rs100. Never ever staked after that.

Never ever brought one..Simply Dont have the guts to loose!
