The 52nd Annual FilmFare Awards announced

And bollywood goes the hollywood way.
Well thats been the real surprize this time with the 52nd annual filmfare awards. The awards were handed out at a glittering function held at Mumbai.
The biggest difference this time being an Oscar style nominations and pre recorded dance and musicals for the TV audiences.

The Award show itself was swept over by "Rang De Basanti" with(at least i fel, real dampener as usual in the best actor category)

Here are the winners:


Best Film: Rang De Basanti

Best Director: Rakeysh Mehra (Rang De Basanti)

Best Actor: Hrithik Roshan (Dhoom 2) (what )

Best Actress: Kajol (Fanaa)

Best Supporting Actor: Abhishek Bacchan (Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna)

Best Supporting Actress: Konkana Sen Gupta (Omkara)

Best Comedian: Arshad Warsi (Lage Raho Munnabhai)

Best actor in negative role: Saif Ali Khan(Omkara)

Best Music: AR Rehman(Rang De Basanti)

Lifetime achievement awards: Jaya Bacchan(presented by Amitabh Baccha; Javed Akhtar (presented by Yash Chopra and Rakesh Sippy)




Award Highlights:

• Hosted by Shah Rukh Khan, joined in different segments by Juhi Chawla, Lara Dutta and Preity Zinta,
• The jokes, "My resolution this year: Main Bachchan saab ki koi bhi film nahin karoonga ." - SRK; SRK on Saif ""The only thing I miss is my friend Saif. He's a bit laid oops, a bit laid up this year.""
• Bacchan Family Show?? Well Jaya Bacchan gets an awards from Amitabh. and Aishwarya Rai presented fiancé Abhishek Bachchan with the Best Supporting Actor award. “That looked planned,'' quipped Abhishek when she presented him with the award. ``I thank my family,'' he said and looked at Aishwarya and added jokingly, almost as an afterthought, ``You too,'' which prompted Shah Rukh to say when Abhishek left the stage, ``Hopefully next year you will thank your wife too.''
• A R Rehman's performance of his composition from Lord Of The Rings. The song from the epic musical adaptation of the Tolkien classic which premiered at Canada last year and will play in London's West End this June. Rehman also performed Khalbali from Rang De Basanti and a song from Guru. Interestingly, the musical genius, who's been nominated for the Oscars for a song in Water, chose to perform at the Filmfare function rather than attend the Academy awards.

Thank god Hrithik didn't get for his ulti movie, Indian Superhero

I can't stop laughing if i imagine the scenes where he flies. he spends 50 crores but can't even think of a simple flying sequence? Funny really

SRk nominated also for DON.
i can't believe it really. A great year for Indian films but i hardly think DON was a awesome enough film and certainly not SRK.

RDB deserves this and ever better i think.
I feel Siddharth from RDB could have got an award. He played the part of Karan really well.
Saif was also toooooo good in omkara.
