Re: Tibet is Burning - World is watching.
The whole world knows that China invaded Tibet. So don't say Tibet is part of China, Tibet is OCCUPIED by china. Now that is the fact which only china will refuse. & don't compare Iraq with Tibet... First of all Tibet doesn't have any suicide bombers, China should consider itself very lucky that Tibet is a buddhist country & not an aggresive religion. But since china is not used to facts,so it will never accept that Tibet was a free nation untill china forced in arms & butchered thousands & thousands of Tibetans & then claim victory on Tibet. Since the whole Tibet follows & worship the Dalam Lama, Mao & his commie regime planed to kill the Dalai lama in order to control Tibet & it's people. & when Dalai lama & it's followers came to know about the Mao & it's regime's intentions from NECHUNG ORACLE, Nechung advised the Dalai lama to flee that very moment. & he was forced to flee to continue his duty for the human beings & also for the Tibetans. Dalai lama always calls the chinese as his brother & sisters where as the chinese always use colourfull words & language to Dalai lama,,, that only shows the lack of education & their standard of edcation. He just wants an autonomy where the Tibetans can preserve their culture, religion,& tradition freely while staying under china! Now since the commie brutal regime doesn't believe or follow any religion, plus they take religions as a threat. Just imagine, how they torture the FALUN GONG practitioners to death. I wonder what the commie regime must be doing to the Tibetan buddhist followers specially after the crackdown in Tibet. CNN & BBC or any other news channels only follows their duty. The medias & news channels are for the public to be informed about each & everything & unmask those culprits no matter if they are the rising world power or any XYZ.
So as the Dalai lama said accept the reality. You cannot rule some one with force, gun, torture, hatred, you can only rule some one with love, compassion, humanity,& friendly...So china, change your policy if you really want Tibet. By your action, it seems like you want Tibet but not the Tibetans. Please stop killing the Tibetans. Instead treat them like your fellow citizens with no discrimination as the Han chinese do inside Tibet.

Re: Tibet is Burning - World is watching.
Naomi, I agree with every single word. One of the reason why china is so desperate to have control over Tibet is that they have found a abundance of oil reserves in Qiangtan Basin and the Chinese govt wants to set up their refineries. China and India are biggest importers of oil and with oil prices soaring all time high, china doesn't want to compromise with its economy. They never bothered about Tibet and Tibetans, and never cared about its connectivity to china. It can not be a co-incidence that the chinese govt set up Gormo-Lhasa Railway Project recently after finding out the oil reserves.

Re: Tibet is Burning - World is watching.
China has continued to crackdown on Tibetans due to lack of International determination. All countries particularly of Europe and USA have been following their own trade interests. If the entire developed world so decide and take Stern measures against China, it cannot survive for a day. It was time for the world to unite and take firm stand as has been taken by Germany and France in boycotting the games for it's Human Life Violation Records. China has been perpetuating heinous crime against not only innocent Tibetans but even against their own people. India's behavior has particularly been deploreable. It is a country which has been run by spineless leaders.

Re: Tibet is Burning - World is watching.
International community pressure on China is very important to expose the reality of China and will push china to change is tactics of "Patriotic Re Education of Tibetans" to denounce Dalai Lama. Ironically Tibetan are more united and bears unshakable faith in His HOliness the Dalai Lama.
Individual initiatives of writing letters of UN,EU,NGO dealing with Human Rights can pressure China to changes its tactic of cultural genocide in Tibet.
Individual can pressure the CEO of Brands sponsoring Beijing Olympic to pressure China to change its strategic violent repression in Tibet, China, Dafur and Burma.
You can make a difference to pressure china to change its strategy of physical and psychological torture of Tibetans under the CCP Gun Point.
MIND, HEARD, TRUTH HAS MORE POWER THAN GUN.
Active international pressure from words to deeds is important to pressure China to restrain from its strategic violent repression on the Tibetan people in Tibet.
The disgusting human rights violations inflicted on Tibetans. The question is, do world leaders have the courage to take a stand against the Chinese government on these abuses? It would be great to see the Olympics used as a way to protest and draw the world's attention to what's going on in Tibet.

Re: Tibet is Burning - World is watching.
If all nations are united on the issue and have the will-power,it"s question of few months to resolve. In fact China is much more dependent on other countries for it"s trade,so it"s not a big issue.Only as mentioned,it"s question of international unity & will-power. & also the world needs to be open enough to speek the truth when it come to Tibet issue. We the world should look eye to eye to Chinese communist regime while dis-agreeing on their policy on Tibet,Darfur,& also in their own region. I pity the TIbetans traped inside Tibet on their own soil, also the Falun gong practioners who are tortured to death
