As predicted Obama has swept todays polls and is now riding a wave thats gonna be hard to put down. I watched his speech live today morning and it was a great one Quote:
"The stakes are too high and the challenges are too great to play the same old Washington game with the same old Washington players and expect a different result," Obama told a hugely supportive crowd of Democrats at the Jefferson-Jackson dinner in Richmond, Virginia.
"People want to turn the page. They want to write a new chapter in American history."

Obama leads in pledged delegates -- 908 to 877 -- but Clinton's superdelegates -- 223 to 131 -- give her the overall lead. | I am pretty sure Obama will pull away now, Washington was the key. Louisiana with the hurricane katrina fallout and the racial profile of population was much easier for Obama but not weashington. Having said that this is now the chance for Hillary also. Not that she can do anything about it, but her supporters and those who were till now ambivalent towards the process know whats happening and they all can see Obama coming. Hard to say how people take it but if there are racial undertones at all, they will be manifested in turnouts in future polls.
Clinton meanwhile is trying her best. Quote: |
"If I'm your nominee, you will never have to worry that I will be knocked out of the ring, because I do have strength and experience to lead this country, and I am ready to go toe-to-toe with Sen. McCain whenever and wherever he desires," Clinton said Saturday
| Republican side, McCain will win it, inspite of Huckabee winning the major chunks of conservative votes although you will have to ask what are McCains chances in the actual fight with the hearland not backing him.
Its all looking great for Obama. (And possibly for the world at large, finally!) |

Btw Clintons now all out to woo the super delegates. I hope she doesn't win the election by proxy now We all knew how bush came to power and surely it can't be Hillary this time for a nomination

Sens. John McCain and Barack Obama will claim victory in all three contests in the Potomac primaries, CNN projects. Residents cast votes Tuesday in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. Quote: Obama's wins give him more delegates than Clinton. According to CNN calculations, Obama has 1,195 delegates to Clinton's 1,178.
To clinch the Democratic nomination, a candidate must get 2,025 delegates.
Obama had led in pledged delegates, but Clinton had held the lead when superdelegates were factored in.
Superdelegates, a group of almost 800 Democratic Party officials and leaders, are not required to make their votes public and are free to change their minds.
The Illinois senator has now won eight consecutive contests.
