if that happens it will be a sure shot victory for Democrats as obama now needs only 39 candidates to clinch nomination it remains only a formality.
He doesn't need to now.
He has won it himself.
The delegates will play no part in the main election. Its gonna be Obama vs McCain all over again.
The problem with Hillary as VP
1) For a lady that is not even ready to accept defeat when the defeat is so clear, do you want her as your running mate?
2) She is today saying that Obama needs to respect that she won 18 million votes. What about the people he won. Its as if she wants to sit down on the table and blackmail Obama to give him the VP ticket.
3) Clinton in the whitehouse won't be the "Change". It would be back to where we were.
4) What about the baggage of the old Clinton boy? He will want some post too. Can Obama take on two Clintons?
5) And we have so much of hate mail from all Obama supporters who just don't want to see Clinton as VP, what about them?(its the other way too, people who don't want Clinton to join Obama)

Obama needs Clinton to win the big states. SO in that way she can help him. John Edwards is a nice guy but how many states will he bring to the table? Someone today floated John Kerry as the running mate. Nice idea that Alas if only Al Gore decided to run for President but now he is too big for that. Maybe the UN Secretary General.

Al Gore would have been nice. but as you put it his stature has gone bigger than presidency.

But he gave Bush a run for his money without any support from clintons.

Back to Obama:
Well he needs someone strong as VP as he cant stop McCain in bigger states. So do clinton need Obama so that next time or after 8 years she can run for the presidency again

So it could be a win-win situation for both. The boy clinton whatever every one says he was instrumental in bringing back american economy on track, his strategies may help bite back this recession.

Whoever it may be in white house, India will not have much to gain if policies dont change drastically.

Have heard Bobby Jindal as possible VP candidate from Republicans, it could be an interesting development.

Bobby Jindal news is more being floated by the Indian newspapers than by Americans.
I saw the whole debate today morning.
Only one lady mentioned him as a running mate probable for McCain and dismissed him immediately on the grounds that he was too "green"
I don't think Republican party is gonna for something as revolutionary as Bobby Jindas as VP. They will have another friend hunter Chenney kind of fella

I just wish they'd get it over and done with, our media has a fascination with this story and report on it ad infinitum......... Unfortunately, once the Americans sort out who'll lead the Democrat ticket, they'll then start the election campaign proper....

18 months to resolve who'll form the next administration, what a farce, what a burden on the taxpayer...........

And they do it every 4 years
So basically you have real presidential term for 2 years and then you start worrying about the next elections(the first timers atleast, )

Clinton Finally Calls it Quits

Sen. Hillary Clinton on Saturday will officially suspend her campaign for the presidency and "express her support for Senator Obama and party unity," her campaign said Wednesday.
The Clinton campaign said she will make the announcement at "an event in Washington, D.C.," where she will also thank her supporters.

Sen. Barack Obama and Clinton were in Washington on Wednesday to each address the influential American Israel Public Affairs Committee. The candidates ran into each other at the AIPAC conference and had a brief chat, Obama spokeswoman Linda Douglass said.

"She's an extraordinary leader of the Democratic Party and has made history alongside me over the last 16 months. I'm very proud to have competed against her," Obama told the Israel lobbying group.

News McCain ad compares Obama to Britney Spears, Paris Hilton

A new campaign ad from Sen. John McCain -- which flashes shots of the two aforementioned megacelebrities -- calls Obama a megacelebrity, too, and questions his leadership ability.

"He's the biggest celebrity in the world. But is he ready to lead? With gas prices soaring, Barack Obama says no to offshore drilling and says he'll raise taxes on electricity. Higher taxes, more foreign oil -- that's the real Obama," the ad's narrator says while crowds screaming, "Obama!" are shown.

Responding to the ad, Obama spokesman Tommy Vietor said, "On a day when major news organizations across the country are taking Sen. McCain to task for a steady stream of false, negative attacks, his campaign has launched yet another. Or, as some might say, 'Oops! He did it again.' "
