What is the purpose of life?

We touched on it a few days back on ShoutBox (Yammy, Agnel, Knotty

(The latter thought it is to drink

) and then in this thread: is immortality possible and if yes, do you want it?

Facts of the debate.

1) Humans really don't accomplish much in their lifespan. You might work your ass off, earn money but its all meaningless if you are going to die. We don't really benefit ourselves with the work we do. However some can argue that a good amount of money makes you have a pleasant stay. Some on the other hand would call a hermits stay better

in beautiful surroundings.

2) Face it, whatever you do, you actions have no impact on the universe. You are a nobody. Humans always think themselves to be something far superior to anyone else but there are countless species on this planet and there were powerful ones before us(Dinosaurs might not be as intelligent but human's won't have been able to survive with them around also

)

3) Existence is basically an exercise to propagate more of yourself. Its the hard truth

It does not matter what other things you do, but nature really cares about that thing alone

4) Without immortality of some form, wealth, status are pointless. Yes you get remembered for say a few years, in some cases even 100's or even say 1000 (by etching your statues or making temples in your name like Pharaoh Ramesses II(who craved for immortality and name this way) but hey, what is 1000, or 2000 years in a timespan where we talk of millions of years(on solar scale)

The purpose of life is not yet clear

However most people says that some relegious beliefs only satisfy the question of purpose of life

But at the moment, its just same

To study, then work and earn money

and that's the way it goes

one gets old and couldn't even utilize all he earned

actually leaving for his/her offspring

But this really don't satisfy the answer of question

#1 Life is meaningful until you are alive

. It is just our perception to call it meaningful or meaningless

. Money is just of one factors for a life, but not THE factor. A few monks who live on fruits will be much mroe happier in life than say any hollywood product. Read the twitters of celebs, most of them hate their life anyway

I followed this Rule...
School - What is Life?? My School & Playground is the World.

College - Live Life as it comes. Friends, College, etc are my World.

Higher Education (MBA, etc) - Life is competitive...better prepare to get a good Job... Live Life according to what u want, Spen what u can return back.

Employed - Life is tough, need to get married, but can't leave my PlayStation behind, Need to Save and Enjoy in limit. Think about future.

Marriage - Still Planning for it

Making some necessary changes in lifestyle

Next Phase....not yet thought of

I would say living is all about preventing the human race from extinction,more or less as animals spend thier life(just for sake of it).
...we humans must be happy that atleast we have the sense to enjoy life with our family and frnds...

If speaking of purpose,this universe is more or less a machine,our earth a small element and we humans the atoms of the element....now you do agree that atoms are negligibly small yet nothing can exist without them,humans are atoms in dis case.....

Which is a futile exercise. As from what we know universe is going go end itself in a few million(billion?)years whichever theory you believe in!

The point is that there is no final purpose in all this. Not of the human race, neither of any particular individual.
