Given his spectacular campaign and the stupendous response to his slogan of change, expectations are sky high all over the world.
Now that the rhetoric is over, and its time to bring in the change, the question is whille his campaign rhetoric translate into hard change on the ground.
Simply put, Will Obama be re-elected 4 years from now? What do you think? ---------------------------------------------- |

Hardly, unlike any of his predecessors, in the case of Obama, the world is crystal clear, problems for all to see and his views clear to the extent any change in them to the contrary would be a huge disappointment.
In such cases what he has said so far, will in most part will be his policy and as it is change in foreign affairs starts now. Middle East and Afganistan(not to forget a timetable for troop withdrawal from Iraq)
I can safely say, that Change he seeks, will not be easy, infact, it would remain a dream

The times were far better when he got elected. At that time, his 'Change' propaganda may have come as a relief for the americans who were desperately seeking a change. But whatever happened in the last 4 months with the world economy, the decline which originated in the US,itself, all of a sudden, the 'change' he was so bullish about, is gonna be far,far more difficult to implement. The economists around the world are baffled by the current situation, and no one knows, when the actual 'change' is really gonna come. Though,by most estimates, that aint gonna happen anytime sooner than 2011.And that too is an optimistic view.No one is sure.
No matter what Obama may be saying to people, he,for sure, knows how hard it is going to really bring the change that he promised to the people.Infact, his job is going to be tougher than that of Bush's, after the 9/11 happened the year he got sworn in.
Lol, maybe he is just plain unlucky that things took such a turn, just before him taking charge.. This year and the next would, imo be decisive for him..it'll prove how good a leader he really is.If he really brings teh change he promised in these troubled times, he would no doubt be re-elected after 4 years..but thats something that remains to be seen..
As of now, he'll be more worried about saving his current term and live upto the expectations the people of america and the world have from him.
Tough Job..Poor guy..

Obama and his government have an enormous task in front of them and things will only get better for them if they start to reform their nation as a whole...
America is like the Roman Empire, still powerful on the outside, but rotting away from the inside.............. Be interesting to see how they go, because our own nations in the Commonwealth and all the the countries will be impacted to some degree... |

looks like obama is going safin`s way too.
imo its still too early to predict about Obama right now. Yesterdays his inaugural speech was powerfull but sceptical too as he narated problems ahead rather than road ahead.
In a sense from his speeches i see a similarity between him and our very own Narendra Modi, so he will have bery vocal and strong critics around but he will do whatever he has dreamt of. |

It was a pretty subdued speech and he was almost counting the challenges ahead. What was even more glaring was the absolute lack of "Change" and "Hope" message that was the cornerstone of his campaign(I think he used the Hope word only once. Yes he is preparing America for tough times ahead and asking them to be patient, but taken in context of all that he has been speaking lately, his campaign rhetoric of Change has drastically come down to maintain almost a status quo as he learns more about the "dirty world" out there.

What he said then, all about the 'change' was a propaganda to win election.Like any other politician would do,anywhere else in the world. However, living up to the promises they make is a different thing, altogether. Most fail usually, to live up to expectations after the elections are over. So,its nothing surprising.
