The US financial markets have tumbled again today in a fall thats biggest ever the histor of the Dow after 2003. The Dow Jones industrial average (INDU) was down 40 points in the early going after having fallen nearly 700 points. The Standard & Poor's 500 (SPX) index was down modestly and the Nasdaq composite (COMP) rose.
U.S. markets took a beating Thursday, with the Dow industrials plunging nearly 700 points to a five-year low, as panicked investors dumped stocks. This is in the backdrop of the big fall we had yesterday and todays meltdown in Europe and not to forget our own India. European markets got off to a terrible start. Within the first 10 minutes of trading, London's FTSE, the CAC in Paris and the XETRA DAX in Frankfurt, Germany, had all sloughed off about 10% of their values.
European markets recovered some, but all were down generally 6% to 10% by late morning.
Russia's volatile stock markets were closed on Friday. Government financial officials suspended them before trading was scheduled to open, according to the Russian Trading System. the BSE is gonna below 10k for sure!!!
the rise in BSE was due to foreign investors and now they are pulling their money out............which is gonna worsen the situation.

^^ No need to get disheartened just yet. Infy has come with better than expected numbers today although with a warning for future.
Imo all this will have an impact on recruitment, lets hope its not a big impact.

I just hope the ones losing money still keep their dreams and hopes alive. It happens once in a while. But seriously, things are looking pathetic in US too.
Even google has started to fire ppl

This is some good news, indeed. 
This hollow, shabby and totally artificial economic system must go - forever. The unsinkable ship of capitalism is going down. Time to celebrate.

Capitalism helps a few, not everyone. I agree. But what otherwise if not for capitalism?

My friend in CISCO was offered a job 2 weeks back. 2 days ago, their entire Business Unit got scrapped.
