Had he been a part of Indian cricket team. He would have been in the playing 11 for atleast 2 more decades.

Thanks to Ishant sharma's heroics in the Perth test, he can be certain of is place in the team for atleast 5 more years.

Seriosly its not funny...

As in the guy performs below par in one game and he himself thinks that he is not worth of australian cricket..

I read the gilchrist interview and the reason why decided to quit and the moment he decided on was when "he dropped laxman's catch" and his reason was he doesnt have what it takes to be at international level..

I mean cmon, who thinks gilchrist is below par player.

So its like, they fail in one match and they think they dont deserve thier international place.

And our indian players doesnt matter...chalne do

There's enormous pressure on Australian players to do well at every single game, Test, ODI's 20/20, the whole shebang..........

The problem is, no-one can be 100% all the time, so these guys are loading pressure on themselves and the media, with their constant harping about "aussies are number 1, bring back the gold, come home with your shield or on it, etc etc" is NOT helping..

The other thing that Australia is doing poorly; is fostering new players into the top level, so the existing guys are being burned up at an increasing rate as Australia fights to hold onto the top spot across the differing levels of the game....... The Selectors should know better, they've been there, but these days they think politically, not sportingly, (sorry, that's not a real word, but you get what I mean)...
