manjrekar being a manager is like being a second dravind to join the company.

he was rock solid as batsmen but never showed any killer instincts, his running between the wickets was pathetic too and he does not command much respect.

secondly to control everyone in this which includes dravid, tendulkar, sehwag, bhaji, yuvraj, pathan there has to be some who can control emotions, ignite passions, and create a strong bondage and at present moment there is no one other that shastri leaving aside gavaskar.

First things first, a good coach should have a good cricketing knowledge, and manjrekar fits the bill. Agree he didn't suceed as a player, but remember Bob Woolmer, how many us know him as a player? On the other hand javed miandad was a great player but look at what he has done to pakistani cricket as a coach
