> BCCI and NIMBUS to pay for DD signal encryption

Yesterday while the parlamentarian were busy passing the broadcasting bill, BCCI and NIMBUS top brass were busy resolving their disputes.

In a turn around from their earlier stand seeing no change in policy, both BCCI and NIMBUS have offered to encrypt a whopping 1400 terestrial transmitters of DD and also their DTH transmission so that the footprint of signals over neighbouring countries is encrypted and does not cause revenue loss for the broadcasters.

This will also help other sports, but in the coming time this will be a loss for broadcasters, players, associations as revenue generation will be less for sports events.

Infact this can be a great news for a lot viewers, but those who need the quality or better add ons will be affected.

And i cant stand pale pictures of DD national as well as DD Sports.

I am disappointed, i thought there can be a chance of re bidding if Nimbus pullas out.
Lets see how the future holds for other sports as well.
