Re: Bob strangled to death
Damn it... Kahani mein twist!!! Did neone watch the news??? Mushtaq Ahmed is said to be involved in this murder....
ISLAMABAD/NEW DELHI: The Bob Woolmer murder case gets curiouser and curiouser. In yet another sensational twist, Pakistan’s media manager for the World Cup, Pervez Mir, told a Pakistan TV channel that the champagne bottles, which were reportedly mixed with a poisonous weed killer, were passed on to Woolmer by bowling coach Mushtaq Ahmed.
Mir said Mushtaq had received the bottles from 'some other person', whose identity was known only to Mushtaq and team manager Talat Ali.
The British media had earlier claimed that the Scotland Yard and Jamaican police sources strongly suspected that a poisonous 'weed killer' had been mixed in the champagne bottles, one of which Woolmer had consumed before being found dead in his hotel room.
An eyewitness, who did not want to be named, told PTI that the champagne bottles were not intentionally gifted by Mushtaq to the late coach. Woolmer had come to Mushtaq’s room to inquire about a nose injury suffered by him during nets.
Spotting the two bottles, Woolmer had inquired if he could take them to which Mushtaq had said that he was welcome to do so. Then Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul Haq and all-rounder Shahid Afridi were also present in the room, the eye-witness said.
Talat Ali and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Nasim Ashraf declined to comment on Mir’s revelations. But PCB’s director of communications Ehsan Malik was understandably on the backfoot. Malik told TOI that the board would not react immediately to the accusations.

Re: Bob strangled to death
did anyone even notice?
the whole thing was swept under the carpet meticulously
Jamaican cops conduct B'wood-style probe
Former Pakistan player Asif Iqbal has criticised the Jamaican police for conducting a "Bollywood kind of investigation" after their apparent volte-face in the Bob Woolmer's death probe, which now claims that the cricket coach died of natural causes.
"Every day there were different stories in the newspaper, every day there was a different way of his being murdered. I think they made a mess of it to be very honest," Iqbal said.
Iqbal was referring to various theories floated in the media to explain Woolmer's murder which included match-fixing mafia, aconite, weed killer and snake-poison.

A British paper 'Daily Mail' yesterday reported that the Jamaican Police would hold a press conference in Kingston to announce that after two-and-half months of futile probe they would no more treat it as a murder case.
And just to rub it in
Pervez Mir, who was Pakistan's media manager during the World Cup in Caribbean where Woolmer died a day after his team's shock defeat to minnows Ireland, suggested Pakistani cricket authorities should consider legal action for speculation against their players.
"I've been saying all along that Bob had died a natural death and let's not jump the gun, let's wait," he said.
"Today the Pakistan team players will be absolutely angry, because the amount of allegations that were leveled against them, or insinuations, or speculation against the Pakistan team."
Whatever sham this was, i think heads should seriously roll over this bizarre investigation.

Re: Bob strangled to death
See what scotland yard has to say about this::
Dear Sir:
Now that Scotland Yard detectives have come to the conclusion that Coach Bob Woolmer was not murdered, it has become obvious that Mark Shields, Jamaica's deputy police commissioner, was either lying or grossly incompetent in both his reaction as well as investigation of the case. Maybe he was guilty of both.
In his desire to become an instant celebrity, he brought incalculable damage to the reputation of the Caribbean, cast an immense pall over the World Cup cricket from which it never recovered, cast all sorts of terrible innuendo on the Pakistani team and worst of all brought further grief and suffering to the family of the late Coach.
Mark Shields has no place in the Jamaican Police. He should be fired and an inquiry into his investigation must now be initiated against him.
