Dhoni to lead Indian squad in South Africa
Its official. In the selection commitee meeting held in Mumbai, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been named captain of India's Twenty20 squad for the World Championship to be held in South Africa in September.
Yuvraj Singh has been named the Vice captain.

(As expected btw, Yuvrajs antics off the field have cost him the captaincy. Although the jury is still out on Dhoni too. His performance has been real patchy abroad although he is very well suited for the slog cricket that 20-20 offers)

Harbhajan Singh and Virender Sehwag, who have been out of international cricket for some time now, have a foot in the door, with both being named in the Twenty20 squad. Irfan Pathan has also made the cut. Incidentally, Irfan's brother Yusuf, the offspin bowler and hard-hitting batsman, also finds a place in the same squad.


Meanwhile the ODI squad against England has also been announced. Only one major change and that being that SreeSanth has been dropped from teh team.

OMG, TEAM INDIA.'s LAST Nail in the Cricketing Coffin!

For some reason I dont like this squad. Seems total imbalance.I also feel for Bose. Dude didnt even got picked for ODIs.
I hope Atleast Rohit sharma is given decent outing during the upcoming ODI series. I have seen this guy right from his school days at SVP high school here in borivali, Mumbai and he is somewhat special, magical at times.
wtf Joginder Sharma is doing in that team I will never know.

Well and what about Kaif...
I really feel for the guy. He was the real captaing material and just got shown the door by the selectors.

pretty much the expected teams but for sreesanth not finding a place in the team.
Kaif is having a pathetic run in africa now.. parthiv patel would soon make it to the team if dhoni fails. he is in awesome form.

i am also surprised that kaif is not in the team. He is definitely a leader quality material.

I think after the retirement of the big three india does not have enough captaincy material.

Dhoni : too early to be given the job, i feel he is immature we will see how he performs
Yuvraj : erratic and moody at times, off field behaviour circumspect, better to developed like Michael Bevan kind of player a good finisher.
Sehwag : no comments, if he is given the job permanently the indian team will be relegated to associate countries zone
Harbhajan : too volatile a mind for the job, no batting prowess at all, overall general cricketing skills low.
Zaheer : a reformed fighter, good temperament, leadership qualities still unexplored

I am happy that sreesanth is shown the door, because even he being good at bowling he doesnt seem to be his own in test, erratic line, trying too much and losing everythin he has.

Actually among the present lot i think Dinesh Kartik looks like a good level headed guy. I think it was gavaskar who rightly said that in him India has a good future captain.

yea, And there again i blame Dravid. He has absolutely done nothing to control him. He just sits back and lets SreeSanth carry on his antics and this has created the impression in him that he has the backing of the team and he is in it for his aggressiveness(thanks to tendu also for that)

^ you can't blame Dravid for that. All he can do is try to calm him down, which he is being doing..

Being a international level player, one has to under stand why is there in the team. I think Akhtar and sreesanth have some attitude problems and it's upto them to come out of it. Nobody else can be blamed for what they have been doing on field.

To Hell with Indian Cricket , 20-20 or 10-10
