In the ust concluded AGM og BCCI, Dilip Vengsarkar has been named as the new chairman of the selection committee and the all powerful man of Indian Cricket

Therest of the decisions are on expected lines eg pawar has been retained as the president of BCCI with Is Bindra as the real man running the show and incharge for 2011 world cup.

Ok now what does this mean for Indian team. Well it depends. Dilip is known to be a man who will keep an eye on the future when he takes any decision. I hope he doesn't keep the same ind of mindset as Mr More.

Its time this team was blended with experience and some people are kicked out. And we need a guy who can stand up to the chappell's in the World.
Only time will tell, we will wait and watch...

He might be the Chairman but we all know its the regional pull which ultimately works its magic when it comes to selection.

Hohohoooo, wait na bhai - you have just placed too much faith in Dada.

Remember, he has to get into the team as a Player and not as Superman. And to be honest based solely on his performance vis batting/bowling/fielding he has very remote chance - unless politics comes into play

to be very fair, politics in into play here.
If it was not, lots of people won't be in this team or in the team management. This is what happens when you bring politics into something.

^ That article pretty much sumps the state of affairs of Indian Polity let it be games, gov committees, or any arm of government.

Either you are with them or against them & based on the side you choose you are entitled to bouquets or brickbats.

To me that is the root cause of all evil - that also contributes to player/team insecurity & lack of performance or performance to solely save their own hides.

Thats precisely what i said about Dada.
if performance is the sole criteria, then lots of present players also don't deserve a chance. But he is being made a scapegoat cos he is percieved to be a Dalmiya man.

Unfortunately, Indian sports will continue to languish as long as this thing goes on. its open in cricket but it exists more rapantly in other sports
