"I think that hurt a few people," he said. "It was strange, to get booed on our home ground, at the home of cricket, but our performance tonight showed how much we wanted it. We took wickets at the right time and occasionally did something special. To defend a total like that against a line-up like India's, the boys can be very proud of themselves." I dunno about anyone else but i am pretty shocked by this stupid behaviour. The people who are booing are pretty much British citizens. They have made England their home and then to come a nd boo the national sqad is unacceptable Flintoff's outburst is nothing compared to this. I can quite understand how this would feel. In India, if our team would get booed by say a Majority Bangladesh crowd
And then we say why those people hate us so much. I guess there are some things you just can't do when you are going to work and settle in another country. For the citizenship, you make all sorts of efforts and yet you don't care much about the adopted country. This imo is root of all racism. ---------------------------------------------- |

Supporting is one thing, going out in a crowd and then lambasting the home team, quite another.
And if you do what you say, then its obviously not going to be liked by the natives. its pretty logical. Think how you will take this if it happened in India.
Have no doubt, Collingwood was being extremely politically correct in just saying it felt "strange". The whole team would be feeling what Flintoff was feeling.

And these guys aren't travelers. Guests don't and can't fill up the Lords.

In any home or away match, of importance. Irrespective of how many travelers you get, the home team doesn't get booed. And if they do by the visitors, the away team gets booed more by the locals.
This thing is absent when subcontinent plays, and that is due to local mentality.

Rep Power: 61 Nickels: 19,719.00 Bank: 0.00 | | Re: England booed at Lords I can see it all on TV also. No team gets booed and the captains of the home side don't come on Tv at the prize distribution and say they feel strage to be even playing in England.
This is not the first time its happened and neither the first time a captain has said that on TV.
Nasser Hussain also said this, and that the behaviour is quite disgraceful. As young Asians battled police and the National Front in Oldham and Aylesbury over the weekend, Hussain, with impeccable timing, asked in a Sunday newspaper why it is that those of us with origins in the Indian subcontinent continue to support cricket teams from that part of the world rather than England. Some would say that the reasons for the weekend violence should provide enough answers to Hussain's question but clearly, the Indian-born batsman will take more convincing. "I really cannot understand why those born here, or who came here at a very young age like me, cannot support or follow England," he wrote. "Following England has got to be the way."
