lol its a wise move allright but not for the reasons you have mentioned. Dravid was a very very average captain who failed to inspire the team. He is a great player but a poor captain and he knew it. If you see Sharad Pawar's statement, he has just said that dravid himself agreed that he was not able to do justice to his job. I applaud him for finally deciding this but he should have quit after the world cup itself.
He has himself acknowledged that he has not done justice to the job and in the letter to BCCI he has said that he can only take one of the two roles, either captain or a normal player and he is choosing the latter.
I have never argued about Dravid as a batsman but as a captain he is in no way comparable to Ganguly (yeah think of timing, before a tough setries to Australia, he chooses to resign, its most probably nothing to do with it, but dada used to take a challenge, he is and was a born leader. Not many people are.)
It would be interesting who would take over. T20 is absolutely crucial now. If dhoni does well he is team india captain, but if not, Dada is making his entry back
EDIT: lol dravid has also said that some "new guy" should be made the captain. I find this stress on the "new" word uncalled for. It points to one guy
