Mahender Singh Dhoni goes on the offensive and in a no holds barred interview to cricinfo he has come out into the open to reveal his strategy and views. In a clear sign that its game over for Sourav and Dravid, Dhoni said that tough decisions have to be taken. "It's very important because the process and the timing were criticised a lot," he said. "But sometimes it is very important to send the message across, because sometimes people neglect the answer."

"What now? Why are people not asking the same questions now? Because if the result was not in our favour, what would have happened? Would the people have been really behind this side or behind individuals?"

"You [the critics] questioned this side but now that it's performed you need to back it," he said of India's first one-day series win in Australia in 23 years. "We all knew, and you all knew, what would have happened if this side didn't do well in Australia. Now that it has done well, why don't you appreciate the performance?

"We had one of the worst flops in Twenty20 and one of the best wins in the ODI series. Beating Australia is tough. That's why they have the best-of-three finals. You can have one good day and beat them but beating them in two consecutive matches is a significant achievement."

Well as long as you are winning not many are gonna question you including the TV channels. I just wonder what the reaction will be once he starts to lose and i am pretty sure that will happen. Australia was nowhere near the Australia that we know. Dhoni has become a bit too aggressive. He should learn to keep his mouth shut imo

I am sure he will have to eat his words soon. These youngsters are overhyped and it will be difficult for them to perform consistently. Last thing we need is Rohit sharma and ishant sharma emulating Yuvraj and Harbhajan

But i doubt if dada and dravid will ever come back in ODIs amidst his dirty politics. Dhoni is aware that he has the backing of the selectors and thats why he is making such bold statements.

The only hope for both dada and dravid is IPL. if they do when for their respective teams there may be an outside chance of them making a comeback into the ODI team

Seriously, we need to look forward. Dada, dravid and imo sachin have done more than what others have done and we are right in going for young fellas. India would burn if they drop sachin , so that is outta question. But u never know anything can happen these days.

^Absolutely. If Sachin is dropped one thing is for sure- Dhoni won't be captain for too long.

He is going gaga over youngsters performance in Australia, but he is trying to downplay sachin's contribution in both the finals.

And Dada and Dravid are spent forces, all the more reason you shouldn't ignite the fire all over again. The guy will learn soon enough to keep his mouth shut. The media is today declaring him a bold new gen captain. Cut to a series loss, these statements will come back to haunt him

i foresee dhoni being axed in one of the tests to send a message across him too.

He is showing signs of a Blonde under those hairs.

Right now the team composition may not have space for saurav and dravid in ODIs but what will happen if this team gets thrashed every now and then by opposition, still this batting lineup is far from stable and consistent.

Young players have definitely charged up the atmosphere in dressing room, but the most expectant improvement in fielding is not evident anywhere.

Not for the failure of aussie batsmen we would found hard to beat them thats a fact.

And in finals those young players were wanting, if not two superb inings by maestro sachin those eleven would have been blasted away.
