And yes, I agree: Kaif, Raina and Sehwag ought to be thrown out. There are other players who can do better.
As for Ganguly taking wickets, well it means nothing. He used to be good at the international level at one time (anyone remember Ganguly taking apart Pakistan in the Sahara Cup all those years ago?), but then when he was captain, he just about never bowled himself. So you can hardly expect anyone else to trust him to bowl.

what has dravid done after he became captain. his form is nothing to write home about. he is not winning.
and then apply the same yardsticks to him, sachin and others.

For any decent comparison - you need to decide on an starting point.

Now if you want to compare Dravid, Tendu, Dada - do it but have a distinct time frame - run an analysis or best watch the games yourself. Compare the stats.

And truth be told - you would get your answer on why Ganguly just does not cut it.

Anyways, the moot point is - will he perform now or would he only add to the woes of Indian team. Honestly, i want our team to win the test series, if that means that Dada has to score a century every innings then so be it.

As long as our Country is gaining by his centuries/performance/presence everything is irrelevant. But then this needs to happen. Why build castles in air. Just wait for few weeks and we would get our answer.

Eh? Dravid not done well since becoming a captain? What are you talking about? He is the only guy whose batting average has not gone down on becoming captain. Tendulkar was miserable in that department, and while Ganguly didn't go down as bad, he did fall.

He was the First Indian captain to break away from the shackles of regional politics and had the guts to fight with the selectors for the young talented players, it didnt matter which part of the country they belonged to. Almost all of Team India's stars, e.g. Dhoni, Pathan, Sehwag, Harbhajan, kaif, Yuvraj are his discoveries.
