It's the price we pay for the CA not developing the talent while the big names were still in the game........ In my opinion, we put too much faith in pace attacks, because they generally work well, (especially against the poms).......... We've always needed to develop a spin component, but Warne just kept on keeping on and CA just let him go on with it.... ---------------------------------------------- |

Sourav Ganguly, who will retire from international cricket after the Australian series, has said he was tired of the constant humiliation and at being singled out for scrutiny. He has also issued a sharply worded criticism of his team-mates, saying some "have changed their hairstyle more than they have scored". (Who's is he taking pot shots at here? Dhoni )
"I am bound to feel bad. I had to fight with my heart," he told Aajkal, a Bengali daily. "If there is a gun to your head all the time, how long can you bear this? After all, I have played 400 matches for India. I have played badly in only one series. Yet every Tom, Dick and Harry is playing in the team. "There are players who haven't scored in the last three series for India, even for the last one year. There are some who have changed their hairstyle more than they have scored for India.
"How long would I have played? Maybe upto 2009. Maybe seven more Tests. For that I was not prepared to take any more humiliation. I was tired of being humiliated again and again. I don't want to play cricket at the mercy of others." Asked what hurt more, being dropped by Chappell or being excluded from the Irani Trophy squad this year, Ganguly said: "Definitely the Irani Trophy. I couldn't imagine being dropped for that. That's when I said, not again.
"I thought a lot before reaching this decision. I have also thought about my plans for the next one year. If this (selection) committee had come three years earlier, the situation would have been slightly better for me."

Where was he saying all this? But surely, his ego would have taken a beating when he was dropped from ODI. Anyways, he made a decent comment i would say
I like dada for this attitude of his, saying things outright

Its almost as if he is trying to say that he was forced out and wants someone to say "tussi na jaao" (SRK movie style ) ("Please Don't Go")

“Ganguly had a superb career as a cricketer. He was an outstanding captain and a great player. I suppose all great careers have to end at some time or the other. Probably the fact that he had to play for India ‘A’ following his selection in the Test team might have triggered the decision (to quit),” Vengsarkar said on Wednesday. Ganguly yesterday "I thought a lot before reaching this decision. I have also thought about my plans for the next one year. If this (selection) committee had come three years earlier, the situation would have been slightly better for me. Vengsarkar today He has lashed out at Ganguly "I won't answer him now as this is not the right time because India are in the middle of a Test series (against Australia) and it might affect the focus of the team," Vengsarkar told PTI.
" But I will definitely answer him after the series is over. He will get more than what he has asked for," he added.
