I thought you were not talking about the last tournament - you were just summing up Tendu's Career by a super duper statement.

When the pressure is on say between two sets of teams - one team would crack. How else do you think the other team would win.

Unfortunately in India's case we are the receiving end. So blame the whole team why folks/media choose one particular player - reason is simple - they expect him to stand out, do the miracle, the unthinkable and in all this hara-kiri performance of other players just goes un-noticed Basically he is held responsible and others go Scott Free especially the Greatest/Best Captain India has ever seen

well if you give a "master class" then the class is "masterful" when you do it when it counts.
Why we blame him, ofcourse we expect him to perform. He is our best batsman right? well then perform when its needed. Else Harbhajan is a better performer for us.
and the captain gets the credit when you are doing well. When you don't he gets booted (like dada and soon like chappell dravid )

^ Tendu still performs - he brings bowling/batting/fielding to the table. + Stats man Stats - they always have a story to weave.

Dada right now is when it comes to batting/bowling/fielding + Stats are well ok.

To be blunt - Ganguly has thrived on others geniuses for a long time. Its time to bring his genius to the fore but get ready for dejection. You might be his no.1 fan but you got to wake up buddy

And trust me i don't count him dead yet - but he needs to perform & perform like he never did before. All the best to you SN

well like it or not its not same situation as Dravid when it comes to ganguly.
Dravid too had to show he can perform in ODIs and he did.
Ganguly has failed in almost all first class matches too. He is 34 and trying to get in team after he is thrown out. And he still is not performing.
When you are out you need to prove yourself or have class like sachin to get into the team on merit.
Sachin still performs on regular basis. Ganguly is not in same class to be treated like tendulkar
Robin singh was thrown out even when he was performing. how can one expect selectors to get ganguly in the team? If he makes in its his damn luck.

anyway dada is going to make a comeback and the present crop is going to get booed out within 6 months. Just mark my words (lol we do it to everyone so its a easy enough prediction )

Ganguly is amongst the most phenomenol players in the one-day version of the game...Certainly in the alltime greats list...22 centuries guys.

He was never a great test player but he was never out of his elements for sustained period of time in the one-day version...he was atleast satisfactory in even his average seasons.

The thing that has let him down as much as his lack of form in recent times is his fielding...
Kaif and Raina are still not in the same league as he is(...err... was).

There was a very telling comment made yesterday by some cricket journalist.

even if you happen to be having one of "those" days in the field when the ball is chasing you, you will get a chance to save a maximum of 10 runs. Well a good batsmen can make more than 10 runs batting.
Its a lame excuse to look for just fitness and fielding. And thats the excuse for those two these days. Their batting won't find them a place in the team.

^ What that telling journalist forgot to mention is Fielding includes Catching and Waugh would vouch for the following statement "Catches win you Matches"

Would not go into question of how 2's should be cut to 1, importance of run-outs etc etc

So that excuse is not an excuse after all That journalist needs to take a break

find out how many runouts have the young guns engineered
they take the shy at the stumps without hitting

And 1's into 2's
may i remind you that all the players are horrible on on boundaries.
And all the guys even dada are good catchers

^ Dada is good catcher if the bowl is heading for his palm - if has to move few feet forget the catch - it would be more like the catch which never was. You need to convert impossible into possible.

Young gun's would atleast stop the ball - maybe they would miss the run-out but they have a 50:50 chance. But in Dada's case the ball would be chasing Dada, as i said in some thread "I am not sure who is chasing whom"

Its the half-chances that turn the tide of the match. And trust me with Dada's fielding is nothing to write home about or anywhere for that matter.
