As I see it, the way is known:
1. Use of the feet as much as possible.
2. Playing with the turn.
3. "Picking up" his deliveries from the arm.
The problem is mainly with the fact that Mendis appears a little harder to pick , and so the batsmen are uncertain when deciding to play their shots......that also explains the lack of footwork.
I am afraid only prolonged experience of playing against him will help with reading his deliveries well, so I don't expect any drastic changes in the Indian fortunes here (Except if they decide to give us a really flat track, which is very unlikely anyway.)
