They actually expected that from us anyway. The only guys who were fooled were us common folks who made all sorts of claims after 1st days play

I would like to see Sehwag to open with Jaffer and Laxman stay at no 3.

Sachin and Dada at 4 & 5, Dravid drop to no 6.

Sehwag is a gamble, but we need one at the top of the order. When the Aussie pacers are bowling more overs than runs scored you know which team is stronger on confidence & self-belief.

However, I don't see how to bridge the gulf between the sides in the field. The Aussies run singles at will, and whenever the ball passes the fielder they get 2 or 3 with ease. Indian batsmen are sloth-like in comparison.

If you drop dravid at 6, he will find one more excuse of not doing well.
From what is looking likely, India will play Sehwag tomorrow in place of Yuvraj. I think the whole "He has got an attitude problem" leak was done to make it easy for him to be shown the door.

Ppl wont lie about something way too often. Yuvi displays his attitude in public on so many occasions, this could be true. Anyways, i don't wanna dissect this too much without knowing what truly happened.

Ganguly down with fever

In-form batsman Sourav Ganguly is down with fever, causing concern to the team management, which is hopeful that the left-hander will recover fully before Wednesday’s second cricket Test against Australia.

“He should be fit in time for the second Test. His condition has improved,” M V Sridhar, the touring party’s assistant manager, said.

Ganguly was one of the few batsmen to make decent contributions in both innings of the first Test, which the Aussies won by a huge margin of 337 runs. The left-hander made 43 and 40 in the Boxing Day Test and provided some resistance to the rampaging Australian attack. However, during the second innings, the sweltering heat of Melbourne took its toll on Ganguly, who had to be attended to by team physio John Gloster

Whats the pitch update?
Turner or is there pace. Johnson was quoted as saying its a slow turner and he was hoping it would change.

I am anyway not sure if a slow turner is going to suit India. MCG was slow asn they still made a mess of it. I think fast pace is better, atleast for Sehwag and Dravid.
And we should play Pathan if its pacy. (Or he is going to play at Perth and Adelaide anyway)

Sehwag is not playing. He has been left out of the 13 probables

Just ahead of the second Test, when everybody expected Virender Sehwag to make a comeback into the Indian team, the team management has decided not to include Sehwag in the team of 13, which was announced for the Sydney Test.
