I'm in agreement with this, IPL is about image and what it did for Warne is to take the media's attention from his off-field stupidities and put it back onto what is really important, cricket...

SRK is a movie guy, an entertainer, and my own opinion is that beyond his ability to maintain a side, SRK has nothing else to really contribute, (to the game).... If he's worried about his involvement in IPL affecting his movie career, then become a silent partner, put cash into the game and stop getting photographed at the game proper or making comments on blogs, that the media/others then pick up on and embellish..............

SRK sucks.

And what i have infered from bidding process is that bidders were advised to put bids for cities.

As ambani was hell bent on Mumbai and likely so SRK had no choice but to settle for Kolkatta so he is not trying to get rid of the kolkatta tag.

But most likely BCCI will cut short his ambitions to move to any other city as there are plans to expand the league to more teams and other teams will fetch more money.

Only way out i see is srk and his team will dump IPL altogether , specially after the fakeiplplayer saga

AFAIK anil ambani is after Ahmedabad team which was the ninth highest bid he had in the first auction, so he will definitely try to wrench next time the auctions are held.

There are plenty of tier 2 cities SRK can take over. He has a massive fan base and it won't be a problem too.

I can think of venues like Goa, Nagpur, Cuttack, Indore etc.

Goa might sound like ,but the rest are Perhaps Gujarat can have a team from Ahmadabad. All the good cities have been taken up, and SRK wouldnt want to get related to a 2nd tier city,given his image of the "king Khan"..

And i dont think,Nagpur/pune can have a team,since there is already a team representing maharashtra. Other states that dont even have a single team will cry foul..
