> Nimbus threatens to pull out of braodcast deal

Looks like cricket in India and controversy are woven together.

While selection row over sehwag was just about to die down and Indian cricket team preparing to take field in a few minutes, there is a fresh headache for indian cricket boss sharad pawar.

Nimbus who won the bidding process of broadcasting rights for Cricket being played in India till 2011 for a whoopping 612 million US$, has served a notice to the BCCI citing the Ordinance of government for sharing the feed and threatened to pull out of the deal.

The Central Government issued an Ordinance mandating for broadcasters to share the live feed of Events of National interesting in which India is playing.

Citing this ordinance Govenrment forced nimbus to share the feeds of the india - srilanka series with Prasar Bharti the National Broadcaster, or threatened to cancel Nimbus`s license.

i see this as a respite if the Nimus pulls out because except ESPN-STAR no other channel have might to dampen DD even if they are sharing the feed.

i will be eager to follow the story as it unfolds.

All this while Set Max have agreed to share the feeds of Matche of India and semifinals and finals with DD for this current world cup which will be their last telecast for the time being.
