So after the debacle in windies, BCCI chairman Sharad pawar has talked about radical changes in cricket setup in India. (or are they??)

• Proposal to make two teams. India Seniors and India Blue. The seniors will be the pro team to take part in bigger tournaments while the blue team will also take part in international matches but against lesser teams.
• Proposal to put in money into domestic cricket. Improve the pitches and provide money to state associations to develop infrastructure.
• A relook at the team composition. Be aggressive in getting more youth into the team.
• Start planning for cricket world cup 2011 from now. Develop and build team for that.
• To devise ways so that international cricketers take part in the domestic tournaments.

For all above he has called a meeting of all former Indian team captains on the 7th of April, 2007. And based on what they suggest, actions and future course will be decided.

Imo we are going to see big talk and no concrete results. We have seen this before. The India Blue is nothing but India A, and if they plan to play them against Bangladesh, i wish them luck and hope they beat them This also means that India Seniors will have the old guard standing.
He did talk about a review of coach. Remains to be seen who agrees to take it up. There is talk of Tom Moody, Buchanon and John Wright. (imo the latter is better)

John Buchanan wouldnt be too bad... but I dont want our Indian players to develop that arrogant attitude of the Aussies.

lmao. all the new guys will be graded according to their performances in just one or two games . BCCI should give all of them minimum 10 games . as I can see it, only 3-4 new guys will be in the 2011 squad .

I think that is the best thing we should do...
Compared to teams like australia and south africa, even our young players look shoddy and unfit. Our fielding sucks and the guys don't perform under pressure. Improving domestic cricket should automatically produce good cricketers.
But i guess as usual this is just the post world cup reaction syndrome. Two months from now BCCI will be back to its original mission of extracting every single penny they can from the sponsors...
Who cares about how our players play?? There is space in our helmet and putting a logo there should fetch a few crores

Would help the team a bit from burn out, but while the India Blue is on tour, the seniors must play domestic cricket and must constantly give feedback for the pitches to improve.
good move, but they've been talking about this for years now. Its time they put this into action.
I kept on saying, india must focus on running between the wickets and fielding in the future, where teams like Australia steal about 20-30 runs in singles and save 20 runs by fielding. They make up, 50 runs there. Which will reduce the pressure built on one end, also doesn't allow the bowler to get the rhythm. It irritates a lot of bowlers.
Just pray that should happen. But one shouldn't lose heart and burn the effigies if india loses again. 4 years of hardwork down the drain? Not at all. Hardwork is something which will pay anytime in life. You just can't predict when?
This is a MUST. The seniors are avoiding this a lot. Better pitches, more league games like PHL one of our FE members had written.

If at all one is willing to coach india, it would be Dav whatmore.
But with sunil gavaskar and ravi in the meeting on 7th april, i feel, they would go for indian coaches.

The captain:
Greg personally doesn't want yuvi.
He feels, karthik would be a great batsman for the future and is the only captain like material in this team.
Will the 22 year old get a raw deal like greame smith? I wonder.
