Shoaib Akhtar has been banned for 2 years and Asif for 1 year by the pakistan cricket board. This comes in the wake of the recent hearing in the doping scandal case that has rocked the Pakistani team during the start of the champions trophy.

Shoaib Akhtar has been banned from cricket for two years and Mohammad Asif for one, after being found guilty by the Pakistan Cricket Board of using the banned substance, nandrolone.

The ban could effectively end Shoaib's career.

Both of them had tested positive nandrolone and had been pulled out of Pakistan's Champions trophy squad on October 16, the day before their opening game.

The testing had been conducted internally by the Pakistan cricket board.

A three-man tribunal comprising barrister Shahid Hamid, former captain Intikhab and Waqar Ahmed, a medical expert, had conducted an inquiry.

Dunno about Asif, but i think its game over for Shoaib. See him in commentary

2 years just for Shoaib seems unfair..Warne got just 1year ban and Asif gets just 1 year...
2 years to shoaib means end of the road for him.
He is no Mcgrath..he relies on pace so thats it...
No worldcup for him.. Pak board have always had their hands full with him and decide to take this as an oppurtunity to end his story.
